Lady Gaga: "Drugs Inspired Me"

Via Huffington Post

Lady Gaga caused a stir when she admitted to Vanity Fair that she occasionally does cocaine, and now she defends her drug use to Q magazine (via Contact Music) on the basis that it helped her creatively.

"Using drugs I really figured out the art I wanted to make and was inspired," she said. "Some people find inspiration in dark places. I guess I'm one of them. What always made me different is that if I was doing drugs I was also making music. I wasn't just doing drugs."

According to her Vanity Fair interview, she does cocaine a couple times a year.

"Once you open those doors they're open for ever," she said in an interview. "People who say they need drugs to be creative are full of shit. I'm not some chick on the road getting high and fucked up every night. I wake up, drink coffee and get on the phone to talk about the creative direction of the next video."

Janice Dickinson slammed Lady Gaga for making occassional drug use seem glamourous:

"As a recovering addict who knows how dangerous occasional use is, I can think of no reason for Gaga to reveal this to her young audience," she told Life & Style. "She is a fucking idiot. The way she mentioned cocaine, I think she should really get spanked. You can damage and hurt kids. I'm appalled."

Moral of the story: JUST SAY NO TO DRUGS!

Hittin' The Scene: The Real Housewives of DC!

The Real Housewives of DC is already chock full o' drama, and it hasn't even aired yet! Unless you have been living under a rock the past year, you know that the infamous "White House Party Crashers" Michaele & Tareq Salahi will appear on the newest addition of the franchise.

While on a promotional blitz this week for the reality show which premiere's tonite on Bravo, the ladies appeared on the View where Michaele Salahi and Whoopi Goldberg would later have it out backstage.

“At one point during Michaele Salahi’s appearance on The View on Wednesday, Whoopi lightly touched Ms. Salahi to get her attention and said to her, ‘Excuse me, can you get back to the White House please?’ meaning could Ms. Salahi return to the original subject of conversation. After the show, Ms. Salahi and her husband accused Whoopi of hitting Ms. Salahi. As the broadcast clearly shows, the accusation was completely unfounded and erroneous. After the show and after being told she was being accused of hitting Ms. Salahi, Whoopi proceeded to defend herself verbally from this baseless claim in a heated exchange with the Salahis.”

In a statement released this morning, the Salahi's lawyer Lisa Bloom claims Michaele Salahi was "treated very poorly by the hosts of the show" and that her client never accused Whoopi of hitting her.

I don't know about you, but I am already sick of the show and it hasn't even aired yet. I can already tell that Michaele will be the "Danielle" (RHONJ) and everything will be centered around her drama. We hope these ladies represent our city gracefully and dont fall prey to the drama that is reality TV...oh wait, to late for that! Ah well...here's to wishful thinking...

The ladies of The Real Housewives of DC will be hosting an invitation only premiere party tonite at the Madison Hotel for their close family and friends. The official afterparty will take place at the city's sexy Buddha Bar located at 455 Massachusettes Ave, NW, Washington, DC.

Be sure to catch the premiere tonight on Bravo at 9pm Eastern!

Pretty Powerful Music: Wale - "More About Nothing"

DC's beloved rapper Wale has returned with a new mixtape, More About Nothing and the city is all abuzz. With suprisingly disappointing album sales for Attention Deficit (due to poorly stocked shelves in our opinion), Wale has proclaimed his "rededication to greatness" and is proving that nothing will stop him from claiming his spot among the Hip Hop elite.

The mixtape features everything from Seinfeld clips, Tiger Woods references, and even an interlude from DC native Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder. Wale is going back in the direction of what started his buzz, and it's definitely a good look!

Our fav on the album? Well it should come as no surprise that we can't stop reciting his spoken word track, Ambitious Girl:

....“ambitious girl, you just wanna win, and you’d rather chase your dreams, then to try to chase these men”....

Although on The Soup he raps about feeling like an afterthought at Interscope Records among his labelmates Lady Gaga, Will.I.AM, The Black Eyed Pea's, and 50 Cent, we say to him:

"Infinite striving to be the best is man's duty; it is its own reward. Everything else is in God's hands" - Mohandas Gandhi

Wale is repping the DMV well, and from the looks of the reviews on Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, and local blogs.....the DMV is proud to be repping him right back!

Signed,
